Five Days in Tost : On the tracks of the Snow Leopard — Tost, October 2026
From 7 to 15 October, we travelled to the Tost Mountains in the South Gobi to spend five days in the field with a team of Swedish researchers involved in the long-term study of snow leopards in Tost. We discovered their work up close and gained a better understanding of how researchers monitor one of the world's most elusive big cats.

Across the Steppe and Gobi — Ikh Nart to the Southern Gobi, September–October 2026
From 24 September to 3 October, we travelled with four travellers on a nine-day journey from Ulaanbaatar through Ikh Nart and the Gobi before returning north through Ongi and Kharkhorin. The route combined several of Mongolia’s very different landscapes, from the valleys of Ikh Nart and Ikh Gazariin Chuluu to the open steppe and desert of the Southern Gobi.

Exploring Ikh Nart — Wildlife, Research and Conservation — Ikh Nart, September 2026
From 17th to 20th September, members of the Artus team spent four days in Ikh Nart Nature Reserve. We had heard about an Argali monitoring programme taking place in Ikh Nart and decided to visit during the fieldwork to meet the researchers, learn more about their work and understand what they are hoping to achieve through the project.

Nine days in the northern taiga — Tsaatan Expedition, July 2026
From 13 to 21 July, we accompanied five travellers from New Zealand on a nine-day journey from Ulaanbaatar to the West Taiga. After travelling north through Amarbayasgalant, Mörön and the Darkhad Valley, we continued on horseback to spend three nights with Tsaatan families. During our stay, the group was invited to a shamanic ceremony in the forest and attended a local Naadam the following day.
